ENL Classes

RISE offers English as a New Language (ENL) classes tailored for adult refugees and immigrants seeking to strengthen their English language abilities. These classes support a range of goals, including everyday communication, professional advancement, community engagement, and successful preparation for the U.S. Citizenship Test.

  • ENL classes are structured into two levels to match different language proficiencies:
    • Beginner Level: Held Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, this class is designed for those who are new to English or have limited experience with the language. It focuses on basic vocabulary, sentence structure, and essential communication skills.
    • Intermediate Level: Offered Monday through Thursday from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM, this class helps students build on their foundational knowledge and develop more advanced reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
  • Each student receives a personalized learning plan that adapts to their pace and specific needs, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to succeed and gain confidence in using English independently in real-world situations.
  • The curriculum emphasizes real-life scenarios such as shopping, job interviews, medical appointments, and school interactions, helping students become comfortable navigating life in the United States.
  • We incorporate interactive methods such as group discussions, role-playing, and one-on-one instruction to foster active participation and continuous improvement.
  • Our instructors are experienced in teaching English to multilingual learners and are committed to creating a supportive and welcoming classroom environment.
  • The ultimate goal of our ENL program is to empower students to express themselves clearly and effectively, whether they are speaking, listening, reading, or writing. With improved communication skills, students are better prepared to achieve personal, educational, and career goals.
