RISE's 2nd Annual Youth Summit:
"Connecting Our Voice to Our Future"
After the tremendous success of last year, we are excited to announce that RISE is hosting its 2nd Annual Youth Summit: “Connecting Our Voice to Our Future!”
The Youth Summit invites refugee and immigrant youth to develop the interpersonal, employment, and education-related skills that they need to emerge as confident leaders of their communities. The Youth Summit will be a day long conference hosted at Onondaga Community College (OCC) on Friday, August 16, 2019 from 10 am to 3 pm. The summit will offer interactive breakout sessions for students exploring topics such as career exploration, college preparation, and their relationship to their identity, as well as workshops for parents to help them better understand their child’s academic experience. The summit will ultimately seek to evoke the confidence of refugee youth and parents alike, and prove instrumental in fostering intergenerational and cross-cultural dialogue.
