The Refugee & Immigrants Self-Empowerment Internship is volunteered-based. We like to work closely with Syracuse University students and faculty, business professionals or other college and high school students to utilize each person’s gifts and interests to benefit the organization and refugee communities.

The Communication Assistant will develop and implement a social media strategy to increase overall reach and brand awareness. He/she will use social media outlets to promote active RISE campaigns, engage the public and increase online presence. The communication assistant will directly contribute to increasing RISES’ capacity to empowering refugees and assisting them in becoming self-sufficient. By increasing public awareness of agency and refugee issues and communicating progress on specific RISE campaigns.
The Employment Intern will assist the Job developer with job search for newly arrived refugees. Assist staff by organizing employment workshops and support groups. Help refugees secure employment, while gaining insight to the refugee experience and learning about a new culture.
The Grants Management Intern, under the direction of the Executive Director, will support the grants program by doing critical prospect research and drafting proposals to foundation and corporate grant sources.
